'Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel'.

  It was foretold in the beginning of our creation.  The seed of the woman was to bruise the serpent’s head.  Satan knowing this sentence went about trying to destroy the seed of the woman.  He failed miserably and gave way to Emmanuel (*).

  When Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, Mary was found with a child by the miracle of the Holy Spirit.  Joseph being a just man did not want to defame Mary, thought to put her away privily.  While he pondered on these things the angel of God visited him one night saying, don’t fear and take Mary to be your wife, for the child that is in her is from the Holy Ghost.  She will have a son and his name will be called Jesus, for he is the savior of his people.  This was to be the fulfillment of what the Lord said by the prophet.  A virgin shall have a child, and they will call his name Emmanuel (*), which means God with us.  When the baby was born Joseph named him Jesus.

Jews', for his star have being guiding us and we are here to worship him.  King Herod was trouble and all the citizens there.  Being full with anger the king gathered many religious dignitaries and asked them, 'where was the child to be born'.  The religious leaders not knowing of Herod’s intentions told him in Bethlehem, one of Judea’s smallest town would be the birth place of the ruler of the Jews.  Then Herod ask the wise men about the guiding star, and sent them to Bethlehem to inquire about the child for he had an evil plan.  

said, 'I bring you good news of happiness and joy for everyone.  To you is born this day, in David’s city, a Saviour, which is the Lord’s anointed.  This is the sign you will see, he will be wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger'.  After this saying, instantly appeared by the angel of God a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying,  'Glory to God in the highest they said, peace on earth and good will to all men'.  After the host of angels disappeared, the shepherds decided to go towards Bethlehem to inquire of the newborn child. 

                                                                                 They hurried to the town and found Joseph and Mary with the child lying in the manger. After they saw the child and worshipped, they went everywhere saying those things which were told to them about the child.  They that heard the saying of the shepherds, wondered about those things said to them.  Mary held these things in her heart and meditated on them.  The shepherds returned home, glorifying and praising God for those things they saw and heard, and what was said unto them. 

was, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.  When they went in to the house and saw the child with Mary, they bowed down and worshiped him. They opened their treasures and presented the child with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

This is a short story of the birth of Christ that will lead to another short story.  We hope you enjoy them.

  *Dear brethren/Participant, when we the church of God celebrate the birth of Christ. Those who are Zion and New Jerusalem bound should be careful with the words we use, when greeting or giving our blessing.  Words have meaning and origin.  In this solemn celebration we should be diligent to use those words appropriated to us by the Bible.  We should not fall into error by using words or sayings commonly used by the secular world or cults.  Our God is a zealous God, he will judge every word.  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again (Heb 5:12).  The church of God throughout the centuries have been contaminated by different cults.  Many cultish traditions and sayings or phrases have penetrated deep into the roots of the church, that many children of God, truly believe these sayings in their heart. Some greetings or blessings may seem comely. But have they taken the time to search them out.  Let no man deceive you with vain words (Eph 5:6).  God is coming for a church that has grown to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:13).  When celebrating the birth of Jesus, a more proper greeting would be, Have a blessed Emmanuel’s Day.
